This weekend it appears that there’s not been a lot of Cornish literary news to take note of.
The Be Spoken Word event, of course, organised by Jak Stringer, is on this Wednesday 20th at the Farmers Arms, Causewayhead, Penzance, from 7pm. Lots and lots of poetry performance, should be good.
A gentleman from Portreath has written and e-published a debut novel (Norman/Paul Smith;Brackledown Hill). Another author living in Portreath was also recently reported to have gone the e-publishing route.
Can hardly believe I’m typing this on Cornish Lit blog but [sigh] it’s been a slow week . . . Ruth Saberton, of combined Polperro, Richard & Judy and WMN column fame [sigh] had another ‘chick lit’ novel set in Cornwall published [wheezing sigh of despair] by Orion (remember them from Cornish Lit news roundups passim?). That was a while back actually [sigh], if you’d like more info [sigh] you can read more about Amber Scott is Starting Over on Ruth’s web site. [sigh].
Also, it’s Murdoch day in Redruth today (Sat, 16th June) – not sure if anything strictly literary’s going on, but sometimes book bargains are to be had on the stalls.
Weeell, that’s that for this week on Cornish Lit. Whatever the weather, have a pleasant weekend. These informative lectures might help 😉 :
If you know of any more news, please just comment or otherwise let CL blog pass it on. 🙂
